Spades is a classic partnership trick-taking card game where you bid on how many tricks your team will win. Play against 3 intelligent computer opponents in this free online version.
You partner with North (AI) against West and East. Before each round, all players bid the number of tricks they expect to win. Make your bid for bonus points — fall short and lose points. Extra tricks over your bid score as "bags" but accumulate penalties. First team to 500 points wins!
A Nil bid means you declare that you will win zero tricks this round. If successful, your team earns a 100-point bonus. If you take even one trick, your team is penalized 100 points.
Bags are tricks you win above your bid. Each bag scores 1 point but every 10 accumulated bags costs your team 100 points. Avoid overbidding consistently.
Spades are always the trump suit — they beat all cards of other suits. However, Spades cannot be led until the suit has been "broken" by being played on a previous trick.
The first team to reach 500 points wins. A team that falls below -200 points loses automatically. Accurate bidding and making your bids consistently is the key to winning.
