Terms of Service
These terms cover using solitaire-online.com. The site is free, there is nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for, so the terms are shorter and plainer than most.
Accepting these terms
By using solitaire-online.com you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. That is the whole of the agreement between us — there is no account to close and no subscription to cancel.
What the service is
Solitaire-Online provides solitaire card games that run in your web browser, together with written guides and articles. It is provided free of charge, with no registration, no purchases and no subscription.
We may add, change or remove games, articles and features at any time, and we may change or discontinue the site as a whole. We will try not to break things people rely on, but nothing here is guaranteed to remain available.
Acceptable use
You may play the games, read the writing, and link to any page here. You may not:
Attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the server it runs on; scrape or automatically harvest the site in a way that degrades it for other people; or copy the site's written content or code wholesale and republish it as your own.
Short quotations with a link back are welcome and need no permission.
Content and intellectual property
The written guides and articles, the site design, and the game code are the work of the site's operator and remain their property.
The card artwork is the Vectorial playing cards set by OpenClipart-Vectors, published on Pixabay and free for commercial use with no attribution required — it is not ours, and these Terms grant you no additional rights over it.
The names of the card games themselves — Klondike, Spider, FreeCell and the rest — are traditional and not claimed by anyone here. Any third-party names or trademarks mentioned in the articles belong to their respective owners and are used only to refer to them.
Your saved games
Games in progress and lifetime statistics are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. We cannot access them, cannot back them up and cannot restore them. Clearing your browser data, switching browser or switching device will lose them, and that is expected behaviour rather than a fault. See the privacy policy for exactly what is stored.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that any defect will be corrected. The guides and articles are offered in good faith and researched carefully, but they are general information, not professional advice of any kind.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site's operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of or inability to use the site.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.
Links to other sites
The articles sometimes link to other websites for reference. Those sites are not under our control and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices.
Changes to these terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. When they are, the "last updated" date at the top of the page changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms do not specify a governing jurisdiction. The site is a free service run by an individual, with no company, no contract of sale and nothing purchased. Any dispute would be resolved under whichever law applies by default in the circumstances.
